JANUARY 20, 2011
Pamela Hiebert, MD FACP, board certified internist at Bozeman Deaconess Internal Medicine Associates, was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). FACP status reflects Dr. Hiebert’s commitment to patients, medical staff and the Gallatin Valley community. She is medical director of Gallatin County Rest Home and assistant medical director of Hospice of Southwest Montana. In addition to serving as a member of the Bozeman Deaconess Foundation board of directors, Dr. Hiebert is a member of the internal medicine committee and chair of the pharmacy/therapeutics committee at Bozeman Deaconess and a Gallatin County Public Health adult protective services board member. She also mentors medical and pre-medical students, presents community education programs, and advocates for health care reform.

The American College of Physicians is a national organization of internists—physicians who specialize in prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses in adults. “I am honored to be recognized as a fellow in an organization that believes in providing all Americans with access to affordable health insurance,” says Dr. Hiebert.

REACH OUT AND READ: SUPPORTING LITERACY IN OUR COMMUNITY

Getting books from the doctor is a routine part of regular pediatric checkups at Bozeman Deaconess Family Medicine & Pediatrics. At every regular checkup, children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years receive a new, age-appropriate book to take home and keep. Volunteers read with children in pediatric clinic waiting areas. Pediatricians and family practitioners educate parents about the importance of reading with their children every day.
