STAR PROGRAM® FOR CANCER REHABILITATION
STAR Program®  for Cancer Rehabilitation
Cancer treatments can cause side-effects, like fatigue, difficulty with memory or concentration, muscle pain, limb swelling, weakness, balance problems, swallowing or speech issues and more that may affect your quality of life. That is why we are proud to offer the STAR Program® (Survivorship, Training and Rehabilitation), a nationally recognized cancer survivorship certification developed by Oncology Rehab Partner (www.OncologyRehabPartners.com), focused on improving the lives of survivors who suffer from the side-effects caused by treatments. Our Team Our cancer rehabilitation program is offered by a group of trained professionals who successfully completed the STAR Program Certification Course. Our team consists of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, lymphedema specialist, mental health social work professionals, palliative care consultants, and spiritual care chaplains. Each team member provides expertise, guidance, training and support throughout your rehabilitation treatment. Your Rehabilitation Plan Your cancer rehabilitation plan will depend on individualized goals that focus on increasing strength and energy, managing pain and improving your functioning and quality of life. Insurance Coverage Most cancer rehabilitation services in the STAR Program are reimbursed by health insurance providers. Check your insurance plan for specific rehabilitation benefits. Appointments and Information For additional information, call the STAR Coordinator at 406-414-1098. To make an appointment, call Bozeman Deaconess Rehabilitation Services at 406-414-1002. A physician referral is needed before therapies can begin.
MEDICAL ONCOLOGY
Medical Oncology
The Medical Oncology staff includes two medical oncologists/hematologist a certified physician assistant, and a certified nurse practitioners, along with oncology certified nurses. Services: 12 infusion chairs One private infusion area Clinical trials available in partnership with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Network and the Montana Cancer Consortium On-site pharmacy to prepare IV infusion medications, as well as in-house consultation On-site laboratory services
RADIATION ONCOLOGY
Radiation Oncology
The Radiation Oncology Staff includes an oncologist, physicist, dosimetrist, radiation therapists and radiation oncology nurses. Radiation therapy equipment: Varian Trilogy linear accelerator housed in a door-less vault 120 multi-leaf collimator Onboard Imager (OBI) Pinnacle treatment planning Mosaiq record and verify Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) Image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) Offering Brachytherapy, including Prostate seed implants and High dose rate brachytherapy (gynecology and breast)

Clinical trials are research studies These are studies in which people help researchers and doctors find ways to improve health and cancer care. ONCOLOGY SOCIAL WORKER
The Oncology Social Worker provides services and resources to help guide patients through the health care system so they can focus on treatment and well being. The Oncology Social Worker also helps patients access community resources that would best help meet a patient’s need for: financial assistance, lodging and transportation, disease and treatment reference materials, community support, respite housing, and additional health care support. The Oncology Social Worker assists patients in understanding and utilizing services and educational information provided by Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center. Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center provides this service free of charge thanks in part to the generous support of Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, and can be contacted by a patient, a family member or a physician.
FINANCIAL CASE MANAGER
The Financial Case Managers assists patients with any Cancer Center related financial need, including helping patients complete insurance pre-authorizations, benefit review and eligibility. The Financial Case Manager also provides support for uninsured and underinsured patients by researching various patient assistance programs they may be eligible for and guiding those with Medicare on choosing medication reimbursement options that best meet their needs.
BREAST CARE SPECIALIST
Breast Care Specialist
Our Breast Care Specialist, who is also a Certified Physician Assistant, adds a level of care that is hard to match in our area. She guides women through their care and treatment—from facilitating appointments to explaining treatment options and offering compassionate counseling and education in all areas of breast care. As our patients navigate through the complexities of diagnosis and treatment, our Breast Care Specialist is there every step of the way offering professionalism, respect for their needs and a personal connection. We are committed to providing women with options to receive essential medical screenings for breast cancer, regardless of their income or health insurance status. If you or someone you know needs financial assistance with their mammogram, she can help.

SUPPORT/EDUCATION
Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center, in conjunction with the Cancer Support Community - Montana, facilitates a number of cancer education and support, for both men and women.
AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CANCER RESOURCE LIBRARY
Cancer patients, along with their families and friends, can access the resource library for education about cancer treatments, living with cancer, along with videos, reference books and other information for cancer patients.
DRUG DONATION PROGRAM
Treating cancer can be very expensive. Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center in conjunction with the Montana State Board of Pharmacy has developed a program to accept drug donations from the community.
