Cancer treatments can cause side-effects, like fatigue, difficulty with memory or concentration, muscle pain, limb swelling, weakness, balance problems, swallowing or speech issues and more that may affect your quality of life.
That is why we are proud to offer the STAR Program® (Survivorship, Training and Rehabilitation), a nationally recognized cancer survivorship certification developed by Oncology Rehab Partner (www.OncologyRehabPartners.com), focused on improving the lives of survivors who suffer from the side-effects caused by treatments.
Our cancer rehabilitation program is offered by a group of trained professionals who successfully completed the STAR Program Certification Course. Our team consists of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, lymphedema specialist, mental health social work professionals, palliative care consultants, and spiritual care chaplains. Each team member provides expertise, guidance, training and support throughout your rehabilitation treatment.
Your Rehabilitation Plan
Your cancer rehabilitation plan will depend on individualized goals that focus on increasing strength and energy, managing pain and improving your functioning and quality of life.
Most cancer rehabilitation services in the STAR Program are reimbursed by health insurance providers. Check your insurance plan for specific rehabilitation benefits.
