A DAY FOR US: WORKSHOPS FOR WOMEN HOSTED BY BOZEMAN DEACONESS WOMENS CENTER

FEBRUARY 4, 2014
Taking care of family, work and community takes a lot of a womans time. Every woman deserves to stop occasionally to take care of herself. In 2014, women of all ages will have four opportunities to take a Saturday morning off, just for themselves, at A Day for Us: Workshops for Women, hosted by Bozeman Deaconess Womens Center.

The quarterly workshops will provide the most up-to-date information and activities on how women can take care of themselves and their health, through education, exercise, relaxation and demonstrations. Four different 40-minute offerings will be presented each date by Bozeman Deaconess and community experts, along with refreshing seasonal beverages and snacks.

The first session begins on February 22, focusing on taking care of your heart and beating the winter doldrums. Register soon for this workshop as space is limited and it will fill fast. On May 17, participants will get help to get active safely in summer months and feasting on fresh foods, while the July 19 morning will be spent outdoors, weather permitting, learning about healthy skin and eyes, and how to protect them from the sun. Finally, the fall focus on October 25 will be on strong bones for strong bodies and provide information on popular nutrient supplements.

Each session runs 8:30 am-noon, and is limited to 30 participants. Registration costs $20 per session or $70 for those who register for all four workshops. Women are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring yoga mats and eye pillows, or yoga mats and eye pillow can be purchased for $15 at the time of registration or at the door.

Neurology

TREATING DISORDERS OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

Our neurologists diagnose and treat neurological symptoms and disorders including headaches, dementia, numbness or weakness in limbs, dizziness, epilepsy and other non-related seizures, stroke and multiple sclerosis.

NEUROLOGY

Neurologists are medical specialists that treat diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Since the nervous system is responsible for controlling all voluntary and most automatic functions of the human body, neurological disorders can manifest in a variety of different ways.

Typical symptoms of nervous system diseases include numbness/tingling, weakness, difficulty speaking or swallowing, pain, abnormal vision, seizures, memory loss, headache, abnormal movements, problems walking and bowel or bladder dysfunction. During an office visit a neurologist listens to patients symptoms and performs a special type of physical exam to identify where the symptoms originate in the nervous system. Afterwards, they can more clearly define a diagnosis and arrive at appropriate treatment strategies.

If you experience symptoms suggestive of a neurological disorder, discuss them with your primary care doctor. He or she can determine the significance of your symptoms and advise you whether to consult a Neurologist for further diagnosis and treatment.
