CNOR STRONG AND GROWING STRONGER

CNOR surgical services
NOVEMBER 30, 2012
Operating room nurses can make all the difference to a patient undergoing surgery, so Bozeman Deaconess Health Services is pleased to announce it has earned the CNOR® Strong designation from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI). The CNOR Strong designation is given to facilities in which at least 50% of its OR nursing staff are CNOR certified. This is the first year CCI has awarded this elite status to facilities nationwide.

“CNORs demonstrate a commitment to provide evidence-based patient- and family-centered care during the surgical experience,” said Director of Surgical Services Shelly Satterthwait RN, MHSA, CNOR. Added Surgical Services Educator Rachel Pruitt, RN, BSN, CNOR, CRNFA, “At Bozeman Deaconess, the operating room nursing team has made this commitment to be strong patient advocates ensuring patient safety.”

CNOR is a definition, not an acronym. CNOR® certification is defined as: "the documented validation of the professional achievement of identified standards of practice by an individual registered nurse providing care for patients before, during and after surgery." It is an objective, measurable way of acknowledging the achievement of specialty knowledge beyond basic nursing preparation and RN licensure.

“Patient safety and positive surgical outcomes are of the utmost importance to a facility, and supporting nurses as they exceed expectations to achieve their perioperative nursing certification shows Bozeman Deaconess’ commitment to its core values,” said CCI Board President Pamela D. Gorgone, MS, RN, CNOR, CPN. “What you do for your patients is outstanding. CCI is truly honored to work with elite nurses in such fine facilities.”

Audiology

NOT ALL HEARING AIDS ARE THE SAME.

Our certified audiologists will find the hearing aid that's the best fit for you and fully customized to you. And as your hearing changes, we'll provide adjustments to ensure your hearing aid is always operating at the optimum level.

AUDIOLOGY

Hearing loss isolates one from family and loved ones. Our diagnostic equipment and extensive selection of hearing aids can help with your hearing problems.

Hearing loss can occur gradually over time and you may not even be aware of the problem. Family members often notice the following signs of deteriorating hearing:

The TV is on too loud
You find conversation difficult to understand
You frequently ask others to repeat themselves
You’re missing the punch line of the joke

If these situations are familiar, it may be time for a hearing evaluation at Bozeman Deaconess Audiology.

In addition to helping you find a hearing aid that best fits your needs, Bozeman Deaconess Audiology offers convenient follow up appointments to assess hearing programs and hearing aid functions. For more information call Bozeman Deaconess Audiology at 587-5000.
